Positive solutions to Nobleton's addressing issues

Nobleton, Fla. - Nobleton's back on the map.  Well, almost.

After three years of bureaucratic denial, addressing problems were solved  in less than three months after Hernando County Commissioners got involved in the process.  A joint meeting was suggested to brainstorm  ways to correct the addressing system in Nobleton.

At the suggestion of Commissioner David Russell, officials from U.S. Post Office were invited to the meeting, along with staff from Rep. Nugent's office, Hernando County Property Appraiser's office and Hernando County Planning Department.  Leading the meeting, County Commission Chairman Wayne Dukes was able to find positive solutions to the addressing debacle through constructive debate.

A map of Nobleton has been added to Hernando County Property Appraiser web site under Central Mapping.   The current map of Nobleton can be found using Census Data function.  Mapping will be updated when changes are completed for county comprehensive plan in the fall of 2012.

The Planning Department is working on Hernando County 2040 Plan . The target date for including historic mapping of communities, like Nobleton, into the Comprehensive Plan is scheduled for early fall 2012.

Dukes said all he wanted was a little common sense to fix the problem.  He was satisfied progress was being made to correct addressing issues in Nobleton.  But he stressed the comprehensive plans would complete the task with new maps in the fall.
